Hi! I’m Masa! I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University (PI: Alexandra Amon), and I’ve recently obtained my Ph.D. in astrophysics/observational cosmology from Duke University (PI: Michael Troxel).

I am interested in utilizing large data sets like astronomical images/catalogs and extracting cosmological information such as the nature of dark matter and dark energy through weak gravitational lensing. I am part of worldwide scientific collaborations like Dark Energy Survey (DES) and Legacy Survey of Space and Time Dark Energy Science Collaboration (LSST DESC).

Research Interest

  • Weak Gravitational Lensing Cosmology

Observe hundreds of millions of galaxies’ shapes that are distorted by the large-scale structure, and understand the total matter distribution between those distant galaxies and us to learn about the nature of dark matter and dark energy.

  • Baryonic Feedback

Observe how gas in the halo is redistributed within and beyond the halo due to supernovae adn AGN feedback through multi-wavelength observables such as X-ray and CMB secondaries.
